Attorney Moreno took part in a conversation on “Linking Dreams with our DREAMERS”, from Arizona, Texas, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, live with Eunice Rendón from Mexico City. They discussed the great DACA victory, the implications of the Supreme Court decision, heard Dreamers testimonies, and answered questions from the community.

Attorney Moreno participated in a conversation with Ben Sigel, attorney and Democratic candidate for Congress in the Massachusetts 4th Congressional District on “Navigating Immigration Challenges Under Covid-19.” They discussed topics including the impact of Covid-19 on immigration cases, court hearings, naturalization ceremonies, visas, and USCIS interviews. The conversation also included the latest updates on ICE, the “public charge” rule, unemployment assistance, healthcare coverage, and driver licenses in relation to immigrant communities.

Attorney Moreno participated in a conversation organized by the Colombian Consulate in Boston with the support of the Colombia Nos Une program. Attorney Moreno spoke about top tips on immigration, visa extension, and adjustment of status in the United States.

Attorney Moreno was interviewed by Monica Garza from ADN40mx. She had the opportunity to discuss the current conditions at detention centers and the release of almost 700 immigrants due to the Covid-19 crisis in the United States.

Attorney Moreno spoke about migrant women, their rights, and what protections exist for victims of domestic violence and crimes in the United States. She emphasized that migrant women should remember that they have rights! If you are a victim of sexual, psychological, or physical abuse: (1) you have the right to report (2) you have the right to seek medical and / or psychological assistance and (3) you have the right to document the abuse.

Moreno Law participated in the event “Crime Victims Rights and Immigration Relief” hosted by the Mexican Consulate. Attorney Moreno had the opportunity to answer all questions presented by our community and to remind everyone that they have rights regardless of their immigration status.

Moreno Law warmly welcomes our new Of Counsel, Salomon Chiquiar-Rabinovich. Salomon has over 20 years of experience specializing in providing employers and professionals with temporary and long-term immigration solutions for furthering business and employment objectives in the U.S. In addition to his immigration law experience, Salomon has played a leadership role in professional organizations advocating for the advancement of diversity and inclusion. He is a board member of the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Association. He also served as the President of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (“MAHA”), Regional President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”) for New England and was appointed the first National Co-Chair of the HNBA International Law Section. We are excited to welcome Salomon to our Moreno Law team! We firmly believe his skills and knowledge complement our firm’s focus on providing excellent, client-oriented legal services to the immigrant community at large and to corporations worldwide.

Attorney Moreno was featured on a panel of female immigration attorneys at New England Law| Boston. NELB’s Immigration Law Association, and Women’s Law Caucus hosted the event entitled, “Women Working in Immigration Law.” Attorney Moreno was invited to speak about her journey, best practices, and the current challenges she faces as an immigration female attorney. It was a great opportunity to share the real challenges immigrant women face due to the current administration and constant changes in immigration law.

This month Attorney Moreno began her term as the President of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA). During the induction ceremony, the Board had the unique opportunity of having Carmen Ortiz, former U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, conduct the oath of ceremony. In 2020 Attorney Moreno will work towards accomplishing a greater inclusion of Hispanic Attorneys in this noble profession.

Moreno Law’s first 2020 Jornada Sabatina at the Mexican Consulate. We appreciate our partners and allies Planned Parenthood, Health Care For All, the Mexican Consulate in Boston, and East Boston Neighborhood Health Center for joining forces to serve our communities. Attorney Moreno had the opportunity to give informative talks to the community and to answer attendees questions.

The Suffolk University Law School and The Suffolk Law Magazine recognized the work and dedication of Moreno Law by featuring Attorney Janeth Moreno in the Winter 2020 magazine. Attorney Moreno provided insight into the nuances in immigration law and current policy challenges. In the midst of these challenges, Moreno Law continues to empower the immigrant communities by holding “Know your Rights” trainings and by providing excellent legal representation.

Attorney Moreno is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Patricia Montes, Executive Director at Centro Presente, on their new radio show segment. Collectively, they will be raising awareness on recent immigration law developments, once a month through WUNR 1600am radio station.

Attorney Moreno, Paralegal Cynthia Rosario, and Legal Administrative Specialist Anaika Alegria were very honored to attend the very special event, “We are Boston 2019, United We Thrive” hosted by the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement. This event celebrated the rich history of immigration and the continued commitment of Mayor Martin Walsh to make Boston a welcoming city for all. Moreno Law was honored to support and participate in such a great event promoting immigrant integration and advancement.

Attorney Moreno is honored to join the Immigration Section Steering Committee at the Boston Bar Association. In this capacity she will be leading the asylum and removal defense sections. The Moreno Law team is grateful for this opportunity, Attorney Moreno looks forward to creating, organizing and facilitating programs in our legal community that advance the legal profession.

Attorney Moreno was honored to attend the forum “Hacia una política migratoria integral en México, retos, datos y oportunidades” at the Mexican Foreign Ministry. Attorney Moreno presented a full overview of the current immigration situation and highlighted the present challenges, as well as advised members of the Congress, Mexican diplomats, and other officials on the best strategies that should be implemented for adequate legal representation of Mexican nationals in the U.S. She also advocated for better treatment of immigrants who are in transit and or staying in Mexico due to the current policies.

Attorney Moreno represented Moreno Law which coordinated together with the Mexican Consulate, the Colombian Consulate, Cmx Boston, and the City of Boston to bring a community health fair to East Boston. Attorney Moreno was able to assist the migrant community and answer questions regarding immigration by providing consultations to people from various Hispanic and European communities and was able to connect with various social service and health care organizations throughout the Greater Boston area.

Attorney Moreno was honored to receive a special award from the Mayor of Boston Marty Walsh for her hard work and dedication representing the Mexican community in Boston, MA. Mayro Walsh recognized Attorney Moreno for her dedicated work and trajectory in Immigration law. She earned this very significant recognition through her tireless commitment and dedication serving the Mexican community.

The Moreno Law team was excited to be a part of this great celebration of Mexican Independence day in East Boston. Attorney Moreno hosted an informational table for all to stop by and learn about immigration legal services available to the community.

Attorney Moreno was interviewed as part of an article entitled, “Help Mexicans Detained in Raids.” In the article, Attorney Moreno explains, “What the authorities can do is identify where Mexicans are detained in order to give them access to legal representation, determine if there can be a motion before an immigration court to request their release on bail or to request a bond before the same Department of Homeland Security.”
